SAFE (Structured Analysis Family Evaluation) Home Study

The SAFE Home Study is a comprehensive assessment used to determine a family’s readiness, capacity, and suitability to provide a safe, stable, and nurturing environment for a child or youth. It is required by many child-welfare agencies, foster care programs, and adoption services across Canada.

At Olive & Oak Wellness, the SAFE Home Study is conducted using a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive approach. The assessment includes interviews with all household members, a home safety walkthrough, review of supporting documents, and exploration of the family’s history, values, parenting approaches, and support systems. The process helps families understand their strengths, identify areas for growth, and prepare for the responsibilities of fostering or adopting.

Families are guided throughout with clear communication, professionalism, and support. The final SAFE report is completed according to provincial standards and can be submitted directly to the requesting agency.
